Our service is a fully self-contained online teaching/tutoring program, we are not one of those sites that pretends that just by giving you a bunch of work sheets to download that we are somehow helping your child get better at math.  To better help new users understand what we do, we have added an interactive demo that you can run from here and sample what our service looks like in action.

This demos below deal with vastly different skill levels.  You can view demos on "distance formula", multiplying with 2-digit factors, and defining percentages.  These skills may be above or below what your child/student actually needs, but rest assured these are just 3 of over 500 skills that are covered from basic math through algebra and basic geometry.

When you run the demo, which you will start by clicking the bold link below, please give it a moment to load.  After loading, you will need to be an active participant!  To better simulate what your child/student will be doing, please follow the steps below.

1) You will see "Start lesson" and "Reports", click "Reports" first.  This will give you a sample summary of current skills at a certain grade level that a student is working on including what they have mastered, what they have scored, and what still needs to be worked on.

2) Click "Home"

3) Click "Start Lesson".  This will begin the lesson on "distance formula" which, in case you don't know, is how we compute the distance bewteen 2 points on a graph.

4) Click "Open Study Guide" in the center of the screen.  This will open a new window with a set of problems to be worked and we recommend our students print these out, you may do so if you like.  You may have noticed, this can also be done in Spanish!

5) Close the study guide.

6) Now on the Ascend lesson screen click "video", you may need to give it a moment to load.  If you have troubles you may be missing a current version of Quicktime.  All of our subscribers are furnished at no cost the plug-ins they need.  Our videos are done by award winning teachers and if you have prinbted out the study guide you will see that the teacher goes through the study guide and teaches step by step how to do the problems.  You won't find that on other sites!  What's more, if you didn;t notice, all of our videos include the choices for "closed captioning" and the option for Spanish captioning!

7) Click on "Explore".  This function will provide many opportunities for your child/student to put their new skill into practice.  Try it and see!  You might have trouble solving the problems, but that's ok, that's why you're here, so we can fill in the math gaps!

You might be thinking now, "Let me just get to the post assessment and be done with this."  But you cannot do this, notice the post assessment has a lock on it?  This is designed to make sure that our students are not trying to skip ahead and are actually using all the resources!

8) Click "Practice".  This will provide a quick quiz to make sure that the student is read to take the post assesment.

Notice now that the "Post Assessment" has been unlocked, you are ready to take the test!

9) Click on "Post Assessment".  This will provide a test to make sure the student has mastered the skill.  A score of 80 is required to unlock the next skill.  If a score of 80 is not achieved, the student may rewatch the video and work on more of tyhe opportunities to "Explore" the skill and then take the mastery test again.  Once passed they will be able to move on to the next skill that was identified as a need for them.

10) When you are done simply close out the demo.
